Recently introduced changes to Rue aux Laines included the reduction of lots of parking spots and a newly added, large cycle lane on which no stopping is allowed.
This changes lead to daily, practical stress for residents and delivery/service people:
risking fines for stopping on the new cycle lane, delivery vans parking on handicapped parking etc.
The large cycle lane also causes dangerous situations, esp. for pedestrians.
Because the sidewalks in this street are in such an unsafe state, many people tend to avoid them but walk on the (normally quiet) street instead. This however has become more dangerous as cyclists seem encouraged to speed.
There are many more issues that have been caused by these recent, sudden changes.
